Really – no laughing now! I attempted a portrait of one of our classmates in painting class and vowed I’d never do portraits. I must be a glutton for punishment, because here I am working on another one.

Here it is at about 3 hours:

OK, 2 more hours, for 11 hours of painting so far.

Yes I know her poor complexion is really rough and I’m not sure I’m going to be able to pull this off. Hopefully soon she will begin to look like the beautiful girl she really is.

Painting Class Exercise

This is the painting I’ve been working on during my painting lessons for the past month or so. I still have a ways to go, but I’m beginning to imagine the end is in sight!

Union (Newest WIP)

This represents about 3 hours of painting. There is only a very thin layer of paint on the canvas, just enough to try to nail down the concept. This is the largest canvas I’ve worked on and I was rather daunted at first, but once I got going I found I enjoyed having more room to paint.
